DIRECTOR OF 32 UNDER 32 (2)

32 Under 32 is one of Ad 2’s signature events, recognizing the best of young talent in the Twin Cities. The event has drawn over 400 attendees in the past few years, with the number of people nominated growing with each year. We are looking for two directors that will help plan, coordinate and continue to grow this event, which takes place each Spring. People that would succeed in this role are those that enjoy coordinating teams, thinking through the big and small details and working with agency partners to create an event that celebrates great talent. We are looking for someone that can take knowledge learned from past events, bring a fresh perspective and fearlessly work to evolve the program.

What you will be doing:

  • Planning and coordinating 32 Under 32, one of Ad Fed’s / Ad 2’s signature events, with a Co-Director

  • Managing a budget with the goal of maximum member benefit and minimum ticket price

  • Creating and maintaining a planning committee of volunteers for the event

  • With help from the Director of Partnerships, seek out sponsors to cover cost of event and other expenses

  • Answer emails and questions in a timely manner

  • Work with the Marketing and Communication team to create promotional marketing material to be used prior, during and following the event

  • Research and coordinate a panel of judges

  • Design and maintain an active website that houses nominations, sponsors and event information

  • Develop relationships with agencies, community businesses and local restaurants and venues

  • Work with the Director of Creative to concept an event look and feel that’s in line with Ad 2’s brand

Additional requirements for this position include:

  • Attendance at a monthly Ad 2 board meeting (second Tuesday of each month)

  • Coordinating and attending a monthly 32 Under 32 meeting with committee members

  • Attendance at all Ad 2 events (board members get in free!)

VICE PRESIDENT

With 20+ board members and many events each year, Ad 2 is seeking a strong team leader to help oversee committees and achieve Ad 2‘s membership, event and organizational goals.

What you would be doing in this role:

  • Responsible for overseeing all Ad 2 events in partnership with the President

  • Checking in with Ad 2 committees monthly

  • Updates status spreadsheet with the President. Ensures that board matters are handled properly, including preparation of pre-meeting materials, committee functioning, and recruitment and orientation of new board members

  • Acts as President when President is absent

  • Responsible for documenting and saving all important processes and materials on the Ad 2 Google Drive to hand over to the next individual in this role

  • A three year commitment of Vice President, President, and finally, Past President

  • Represent Ad 2 at Ad 2’s Mid-Year Retreat, AdMerica, and other conferences

  • Attend all Ad Fed and Ad 2 Monthly Board Meetings and Ad Fed/Ad 2 Events.

  • Attendance at a monthly Ad Fed Executive Team Meeting

director of design + creative

As Ad 2 grows and changes, we are looking for a Director of Creative that will not only be the owner of the Ad 2 brand look and feel, but someone that can direct designers and writers in creative concepting and execution for each event Ad 2 plans throughout the year. While we don’t need a seasoned Creative or Art Director for this position, candidates for this role should have an interest in leading teams, designing event collateral and working with other Directors on the Ad 2 board to concept creative for events throughout the year.

What you would be doing:

  • Direct and assign tasks to a committee of designers and writers

  • Creative concepting for each event in collaboration with Event Directors

  • Designing event and miscellaneous Ad 2 collateral: sponsorship one-pagers, promotional material, etc.

  • Collaborating with the AdFed Design chair to ensure brand identity cohesion and standardization

Additional requirements for this position include:

  • At least 1-2 years of design experience

  • Attendance at a monthly Ad 2 board meeting (second Tuesday of the month)

  • Coordination and attendance at regular committee meetings

  • Attendance at various event committee meetings to be briefed on projects (this can be assigned to individual committee members)

DIRECTOR OF DIVERSITY + INCLUSION

As mass communication industries aim to more authentically engage with consumers of all races, ethnicities, genders, sexualities, abilities, socioeconomic backgrounds, and religions, there has been an increased focus on amplifying the voices of marginalized groups. We are looking for a director who will ensure that Ad 2 is adequately serving diverse populations and is maintaining relevance to broader audiences. A person that would do well in this role is someone who is passionate about D&I efforts, enjoys concepting and implementing strategies, and can think creatively about audience engagement. We are looking for someone who can establish a template for future Ad 2 D&I initiatives and cultivate an organizational culture of inclusion.

What you would be doing:

  •  Working with Ad 2 Executive Team to establish an overall strategy to serve and include diverse communities

  • Developing metrics for measuring the effectiveness of diversity initiatives

  • Creating and maintaining a committee

  • Maintaining communication with Directors of Events, Member Retention/Acquisition, Marketing/Communications, and Design to ensure that the overall strategy is being implemented throughout Ad 2 events, programs, and communications.

  • Answer emails and questions in a timely manner

  • Develop relationships with local affinity groups and organizations

DIRECTOR OF MEMBER RETENTION

As an organization that aims to help launch successful careers in all advertising industry segments, our success depends on the cultivation and maintenance of a healthy membership base. We are looking for a director who will nurture and develop member relationships and foster direct value to our base. A person that would do well in this role is someone who is passionate about consumer engagement, is great at establishing and maintaining relationships, is a creative problem solver, and strategic thinker.

What you would be doing:

  • Working in collaboration with the Director of New Member Acquisition to establish engagement strategies and goals for retaining new Ad 2 members.

  • Developing, implementing, and managing initiatives designed to nurture member relationships

  • Identifying and addressing the key needs and interests of our members

  • Consistently identifying opportunities to provide additional educational value through articles, podcasts, books, videos, etc.

  • Tracking overall membership trends and providing monthly reports on progress towards continuous growth goals.

  • Working with all event Directors to customize retention and added value efforts during Ad 2 events and programs

  • Working with the Director of Diversity and Inclusion to ensure that all efforts align with the organization’s D&I strategy and goals

  • Answering emails and questions in a timely manner

DIRECTOR OF EVENTS

Several times a year, Ad 2 organizes events that connect us to our members, agency partners and young people working in the advertising industry. When it comes to events, there isn’t a lot we haven’t done. In the 2018-2019 season, we coordinated a Trivia Night, Undisclosed and an Agency Tour. We are looking for two people that can serve as the Directors of Events to plan and coordinate three total events during the year. People that would do well in this role are those that love the big and small details, working with a team and imagining up events that will benefit our members and encourage non-members to join.

What you’ll be doing in this role:

  • Determining events calendar for the year with the help of the Ad 2 Executive Team

  • Building and coordinating a team of committee members

  • Leading the event planning process and delegating responsibilities to the team

  • Writing a creative brief and communications brief for each event

  • Coordinating event venues

  • Managing a lean budget for each event and working to find sponsors to cover event expenses

  • Building and maintaining partnerships with local businesses and agencies with the help of the Director of Partnerships

DIRECTOR OF NEW MEMBER ACQUISITION

As an organization that aims to help launch successful careers in all advertising industry segments, our success depends on the cultivation and maintenance of a healthy membership base. We are looking for a director who will develop and implement strategies to introduce our target audience to Ad 2 membership, and attract new members in a highly competitive market. A person that would do well in this role is someone who is passionate about consumer engagement, has a knack for event planning, and is able to forge their own path.

What you would be doing:

  • Working in collaboration with the Director of Member Retention to establish strategies and goals for attracting and retaining new Ad 2 members.

  • Creating and executing loyalty strategies, touchpoints, surprise and delight interactions, etc to drive meaningful interactions with target audience.

  • Tracking new membership acquisitions and providing monthly reports on progress towards continuous growth goals.

  • Developing and customizing value propositions to incentivize potential new members

  • Working with all event Directors to customize acquisition efforts during Ad 2 events and programs

  • Working with the Director of Diversity and Inclusion to ensure that all efforts align with the organization’s D&I strategy and goals

Ad 2 is an affiliate of the American Advertising Federation (AdFed), reflecting memberships made for ages 32 and under. Ad 2 focuses on meeting the needs of young professionals through educational and networking events, and public service opportunities. We are looking for someone to fill the role of Director of Finance for our non-profit, helping us manage budgets for events, coordinate sponsorship dollars from local agencies and businesses and serve on the AdFed Executive board. The ideal person for this position is someone that is excited about building a new position from the ground up, working with a variety of teams and hyper-focused on details and planning.

What you’ll be doing in this role:

  • Manage Ad 2 event budgets and sponsorship dollars

  • Along with the Director of Partnerships, meet partners to discuss sponsorship

  • Review and approve event budgets with the Directors of Events, 32 Under 32, Student Ad Summit and Women’s Leadership Panel

  • Working with the AdFed Treasurer to determine proper event budgets and ensuring that incoming Ad 2 invoices are being paid

  • Serving on the AdFed Executive Board, along with the Ad 2 President, Vice President and Past President

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Google Docs

An important part of the Ad 2 organization is our relationship with our agency and corporate partners in the Twin Cities. We are looking for someone to fill the role of Director of Ad 2 Partnerships to build relationships with local business so we can put on the best programming for our members and community. The ideal person for this role is one that isn’t afraid to make cold calls, is looking to expand their network with local companies and would consider themselves to be a “salesperson.” We rely on our partnerships to fund our events, but would like the person that fills this role to feel confident on asking our partners what we can do to better support them and to uncover creative ways to incorporate them into our programming.

What you would be doing in this role:

  • Working with the Director of Ad 2 Finances to determine sponsorship needs for the year’s events

  • Working with Event Directors and the Ad 2 executive team to determine partnerships that would be beneficial to Ad 2’s mission and goals

  • Building a committee to support outreach and contact efforts

  • Meeting with agencies, business and brands to build connections and involvement with Ad 2

  • Managing lists of partners and regularly reaching out to companies to make sure we are top of mind

  • Ensuring that sponsor benefits are being delivered and invoices are being paid (with help from the Director of Ad 2 Finances)

Ad 2 is dedicated to giving back to our community through public service. We are seeking someone who can help us build relationships with local non-profits, plan a public service campaign and engage our members with public service activities. The ideal candidate for this position is interested in leading a team and managing a year-long timeline to help a local non-profit execute a campaign based on their needs. The Ad 2 Executive Team will help you organize a committee of dedicated young professionals to execute this campaign. You’ll also have the opportunity to compete in a Ad 2’s National Public Service Competition.

What you’ll be doing in this role:

  • Working with local non-profits and develop lasting relationships

  • Identify volunteer opportunities for Ad 2 members (Polar Plunge, Second Harvest Heartland)

  • Developing a strategy to seek out and choose one non-profit to work with

  • Coordinating a committee of volunteers to concept and deliver a creative campaign that supports the selected non-profit

  • Developing and managing relationships with vendors to fulfill marketing and advertising needs for selected non-profit

As one of Ad 2‘s signature events, the Women’s Leadership Panel draws in hundreds of people who are eager to learn and be inspired by women empowerment. We are looking for two directors that will help plan, coordinate and continue to grow this event, which takes place each Fall. People that would succeed in this role are those that enjoy coordinating teams, thinking through the big and small details and working with agency partners to create an event that empowers women and allies. We are looking for someone that can take knowledge learned from past events, bring a fresh perspective and fearlessly work to evolve the program.

What you would be doing:
